Woodstown Central Railroad unveils first restored coach

The Woodstown Central Railroad has announced the completion of it’s first ex-CNJ coach at its shops in New Jersey. Numbered 1319, the car bears the name “Oldmans Creek”, as voted on by fans of the Railroad on their Facebook page. In a video posted by the railroad, the coach is shown as part of the entire consist pulling into the boarding platform. It joins their historic caboose in their small but growing passenger consist.

This car is part of a group of 6 ex-CNJ coaches bought from the Green Mountain Railroad in Vermont. These cars and a 1906 office care are all slated for restoration and service on the Woodstown Central. Car #1312 is currently receiving work and will become a table car. Work continues on ALCO 0-6-0 #9 as well, with jacketing being added to the boiler.
