The Railroaders Memorial Museum (RMM) in Altonna, PA has acquired an 1920s ex Pennsylvania Railroad baggage car for use in future excursions. The car had been used as a maintenance of way car for decades at Amtrak’s Washington D.C. terminal before being sold to Railway Excursion Management Company (RailExCo) at an auction in 2022. RailExCo then donated the car to RMM after connecting with FMW Solutions.
RMM plans to use the car as part of the excursion consist that it is building to travel with PRR K4 steam locomotive #1361. This car will host exhibits showcasing the history and importance of railroads and railroaders alike.
The car will be stored at the nearby Everett Railroad until it can be moved to the museum and begin restoration.
