On the morning of January 31st, 2023, Norfolk and Western #611 was moved to the outdoor display yard at the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum across the street from the Strasburg Railroad. Accompanying her on the move were the auxiliary water tender and tool car that she travels with. The three open top gondolas that she came to Strasburg with are still on the Strasburg Railroad.
She will be on display for a limited time during the first few months on 2023.
611 has been at Strasburg since May 26, 2021. During that time she has been pulling excursions over the 4 1/2 mile Strasburg shortline, as well as completing her federally mandated five year FRA inspection. She last operated in November 2022. 611 is owned by the Virginia Museum of Transportation.
