The tourist operation arm of New Jersey’s SMS Rail Lines started operations November 5th, running along an 18 mile long route in Southern New Jersey. The initial excursions started with Baldwin diesel #304 and a restored Reading caboose.
The railroad has a few restoration projects in the works, most notably the restoration of #9, a 0-6-0 steam locomotive that was test fired in August 2021. Also of note is a 1906 ex-B&O private officer car, recently purchased from the Everett Railroad in PA.
